To enter the water, one must hold their breath; only by returning to the surface can one breathe again. Water and breath cannot coexist, yet the Haenyeo (female divers) live in harmony with the sea, embodying a spirit of selflessness.

This exhibition offers a glimpse into the lives of the Haenyeo through the works of various artists, including active Haenyeo. It's a space to experience firsthand the stories of Jeju's Haenyeo, who navigate the boundary between water and breath, sharing the ocean's essence. We invite you to the sea of the Jeju Haenyeo.
